About Me:: Topik's Story......a proud resident from the southern side of chicagoAfter moving to minnesota from taking care of a sick grandmother , to live with his family he stubbled upon a eminem cd...a cd that would change the way he thought of life as it was.....

After a couple of months during his teenage years he started to do what other teenages will have to in the future....he started to rebel to the fullest ..it seemed like he liked having all the negative tention towards his direction...he liked to be right all the time....females also motivated this transition for which they loved his attitude. then after graudating from middle school in saint paul he moved to the quiet streets of White Bear Lake , MN.

This was where his life took its limit...he started thinkin superior. This quiet town....just wanted to be shook..so he used words to cause drama at his high school North campus...he found that words really was more powerful then fist alone. first rap he wrote was on a napkin in the lunch room...a rap diss towards a fellow student that should not be mentioned due to the law....first song he recorded was with a fellow rapper in white bear lake LiL Z a guy that understood Topik's talent.

"He got a flow like eminem" he said about his rapper after they recorded a duo rap stating snitches. Soon found out the common techniques of producing music on his own...After closely making a greater name for his self in the WBL...those goals was shattered due to the problems his parents were having with authorities. So he had to move to Minneapolis MN.. where he discovered that there are more rappers then he thought....

So he thought that his chances of rising was no more so he just sat back at his house and made money....he graduted from nothin to somethin...he soon discoverd a freestyle rapper was in the same sate of mind he was end..so one else dedicated to fame and money who goes by the name of Young Tycoon.......and thats how Topik came to be.

Topik birth named "Robert Woods" mentally changed when he set foot in the rough streets of Minneapolis. Hustlers, pimp, addicts, prostitutes, and dealers all roamed the streets. Everywhere was drama of some sort dealing with one of the many gang sets in the area. Being in this enviorment he had to adapt. He had to never show any fear to anybody, and how he did this was to learn not to care about what other people say and just be who you are. "i can give a fuck less"

is the quote commonly said by the U.T.P rapper himself though he cares about his family memebers. Being seperated from his family due to drug realated causes he looked into music to forget about the life he was enduring. Transfering from school to school, gaining a rep then losing it also added to his alter savage ego.

"This is the new me. No more bitchin to my family/ No more begging for change just to buy the latest CD/ No more K-mart air shoes, no more old navy/ if i go back to that id be broke, dead, of either crazy" he said basically stating how much he had changed from nothing to something in the song "U.T.P Reality" which is on The Northern stars Mixtape that sold over 100 units. Not bad for up comming rappers who just learned about the hustle. Doing nothing but buying rainbow colored cd's with color matching cases, Topik and the whole U.T.P family burned Cd's day and night to put or voices out in the streets of Minnapolis though it had little affect on their careers they feel happy having the project accomplished by the deadline they wanted to have it done by.

Soon after the minor success of their first mixtape...The record label soon grew outragously. Many hungry rappers wannted to join and be apart of thee uprising. Many of which you would have never guess to have any skill at all. Topik gained respect among many at his formal high school "Thomas Edison" where he perfromed one of his tracks underground traks "New Beginning" at the Multi-Cultural Talent show which was held at his high school. Soon after doing this he was shocked with the news that the owner of First ave & 7th st entry wanted U.T.P to perform Late May. After months of arranging a possible date from the President of the label Tycoon for us to perform....The owner finally gave us a Shot. A big event Topik can now put on his rap Resume
