FAME

Everybody wants to be famous for something. See their name in lights. Make heads turn. The question of the day is…to what extent would one go to in order get this said fame? What do you want to be known for? Making paper, saving lives, the biggest booty, healing broken hearts, being hung low, loving people wholeheartedly, being a playa playa, dressing the flyest? I mean, what moves YOU? Will it mean anything to anybody once you are long gone?
We truly do reap what we sow into this world. Our children are our future and I hope I’m doing my part in making sure it is a beautiful, safe, and knowledgeable one. I was talking to a six year old one day and when I asked her what her future goals were, her answer was…..to get a boyfriend and have some kids. Another child didn’t know his multiplication facts but could recite every one of his daddy’s derogatory hip hop lines. I even ran across a young lady who excelled in school but had no respect for adults. The list goes on and on.
Where do you think they are getting these ideas? From us. They are at home watching music video’s, and rated PG 13 movies that should be rated R, and listening to the their parents talk crazy, or they are talking crazy themselves because of the lack thereof. There is just so much work to be done within ourselves that will have an even greater impact on those coming behind us.
I don’t want to look at our future generations the way or elders often times look at us.
