I CAN NEVER FIND ANYTHING TO WEAR……..OR CAN I? TAKE THE LAUNDRY CHALLENGE!

Do you find yourself saying this all the time? Have clothes in the closet WITH tags but still feel nothing you look at wants to ride your body for the day?...well yeah it’s typical. It is also not just a girl thing, or a time of the month thing…..it happens to the best of us.

A couple of months back I took myself through a little challenge to see if my suspicions were right or if I was auditioning for the most dramatic closet meltdown in my apartment. I decided to NOT do laundry for as long as I could and wear everything in my closet. When I got stuck that would be the sign that anything left needed to go to charity or friend who has not hit Uptown Diner up at 2am as much as I had….ugh.

Most of us do not have the Kimora Lee closet so you have a tendency to overlook little gems in our wardrobe OR the infamous laundry trap. You do laundry and put those items right back in the front of the closet. Which now means you will end up wearing that again….soon.

Results:

So I was able to go THREE FULL MONTHS without doing laundry. Right away this tells you I have tons of clothes. No I am not balling out of control but I would like to consider myself a beast at finding a bargain…so items are plentiful. What these three months gave me was a chance to experiment more with different colors, combinations and accessories. It also made me realize that those size ___ (insert size you USED to be) pants are not going to fit over these hips again…LET EM GO CALI!!
When all was said and done I had 4 bags of items (shoes, shirts, pants, jackets, hoodies, and accessories) for charity and friends. I had outgrown these items either in style or size but just never took the time to get rid of them.
